I had better end this or it drag out too much.

Morris Traveller - an enjoyable car in its day and very handy for transporting a band's PA equipment.

and what is the XC60 connection?

For me it is the design features in common:

- Estate car configuration
- Bulbous front end
- relatively large diameter wheels
- realtively high luggage compartment floor
- Some underfloor storage
- easy to fold rear seats
- flat roofline
- Dashboard mounted starting

I still have the Haynes workshop manual. Looking at this I see that the overall fuel consumption was 35mpg (my xc60 does better than that). It is also interesting that the wiring diagram complete with component key easily fits on one page, I hate to think how many pages an XC60 wiring diagram takes. Also one has to note that the Traveller had a fullsize spare wheel.

One could think of an XC60 as a grown-up Morris Traveller (but you may not want to).

Surely you missed the most important feature that it had?

Namely the full size spare wheel, that is if you could call those wheels and tyres full size

Yes I did mention that later, but I take your point about sizes.

Another gem from the workshop manual: 0-60mph in 24.2 seconds. Those were the days!

I'd quite like to see an XC60 with some nice exterior woodwork!
