Default Pollen Filter Housing

I am finally going to sort out my duff air-con and it seems I have a number of jobs to do in order to get things going. One of them is to fit a pollen filter and it's attachment housing. Rang my local volvo dealer and he informs me that the 850 part number has now been superceeded by the V70 part. This should still fit but this means my £20 pollen filter (previously bought from ECP) will not. Is this really the case that there are no more 850 ones left? Should I ring around a few more dealers to see if they have any left, or shall I just get on to Salvo's? Is relatively cheap at £15.90 + VAT considering it's a genuine part, so am a little bit reluctant to pay the £8 p&p to have a 2nd hand one sent to me. Any ideas?

I got one from my dealers about eight months ago, so it must've only recently been superseded. I'd be interested to know the difference between the two and if there's anyway to make your existing filter fit.

£8 P&P for something that weights next to naff all...bit excessive (my opinion only)

Not sure what the explanation is, but the ECP pollen filter did in fact fit in to the (supposedly) V70 housing so no dramas in the end. Just have to attempt cleaning the evaporator now...

Gary,
Cheers Gary but my filter fits in the housing I bought so I'm all set to install now. Must be a shame to break your S70 after all the work you've done on it. Any tweaks 'happened' to your new beast yet? ;-)

Hi Nick glad you got it sorted it,
I am not going to touch the new car too much, only what i have already done to her, Crystal lights and indicators with Phillips HID, 18" Tritons just this moment went out and fitted the strut brace, and last of all, on Thursday having the TME map installed,

Gary.

PS The last car was almost a love affair lol, too much time spent on her, this one I am enjoying and spending more time driving than working on her,
