Default Rear Hub failure

My car has been relatively trouble free until....
I've just suffered the handbrake failure as in the 'handbrake woes' sticky. Now looking for all the parts for drivers side, hub, handbrake cable backplate etc. The car is a 2006 S60 D5 185bhp. I've already posted in the wamts section with a pic.

Thanks
Regards
Steve.

Default 2006 rear hub part number ?

Thanks for the info Darryl, I looked at some on ebay but I'm not sure which parts are correct and I need to be sure, especially as postage is around £20
Does anyone know if the 2006 models are different ? I've seen some hubs advertised 'from 2000-20004' that suggestes that they aren't all the same. Does anyone know how to tell them apart, or anyone have the part numbers ?

Thanks
Regards
Steve

Yes i noticed that but others on the same page list 2000-2007.

Why not PM Clan or even try RUFE as they should be able to advise.

2nd hand is definitely the way to go and i know for certain that Clan also recommends this as it is not a part subject to normal wear and tear.

Good Luck. Darryl

Thumbs up

I've PM'd Clan but looks like RUFE doesn't take emails these days, I think he prefers to deal on the phone. I'll have to wait until Monday now and I'll try and speak to him.
Thanks

Hub repair kit, cost approx 10£. A lot cheaper than the hub casting:

Like the idea but I wouldn't unless for a short term emergency repair. Can't imagine it would survive that environment unless it's dowelled or keyed in position and if it ever let go it's probably a lot more likely to lock the hub than the original setup.

Thanks for all the replies. I've picked one up today from the guys at
www.swedishautoparts.co.uk at a very reasonable £45 including handbrake cable. They're local to me and its from a Y reg V70 and I'm pleased to say that the part numbers on the casting match my broken part so should be fine. Problem is I have another one coming in the next couple of days that I orderd before I found these guys.
Happy to pass it on to someone for the purchase price of £70

Regards
Steve
