Default HELP!! ASR on randomly

Hi all, big problem with my 99 T4

Did an 80 mile trip today, at the start under load she was missfiring in all gears, then towards the end of my journey i noticed my ASR light flashing on the dash.

The ASR is now cutting in randomly not even under load, it too dangerous to drive and im stuck 80mile from work in Milton keynes.

Anyone have any idea on how to solve the problem, or even if i can disconnect it all together. if a fuse has gone will it act like this?

thanks in advance

suggestions from BenzWord.org and JustAnswers are:-

"Poor battery/earth/ignition connection or short - It was making intermittent contact which was why I'd get ABS/ASR lights and throttle/braking jolts when I hit a bump over the road"

"ABS / ASR systems 99% of the time its a problem with one of the wheel speed sensors and I'd first check the connections at all four corners first for any signs of corrosion or chafed wiring"
