Looks like you've been visiting some stereo Museum???

Only joking!

Some nice equipment there and I do appreciate the fact that there is many people out there who love to hear the sounds as they were truely meant (proper curvey wavelengths) and not as a series of digital ON and OFF's.

Hi Rawas,
until fairly recently the home system was made up of matched Marantz separates , amp/casette deck/stereo tuner/turntable from the early 80's coupled with one of the first Marantz CD players - the only change over 30 years was to replace the speakers with a matched pair of Wharfedale L79-69 Linton's.
The system was recently replaced with an LG surround sound blu-ray theatre system. Excellent for watching DVD’s, but the sound is somewhat “cold” - clear faultless reproduction – but no real “feel”.
We’ve still got the old system, which still works perfectly well; at some point I intend to refurbish it, just have not got the time to do it at the moment. I need to replace the cassette drive belt again, clean or replace the amplifier’s potentiometers! Strangely the balance is still very accurate. The turntable is a direct drive model with a Shure cartridge – as good as the day it was first installed.
