Default XC90 2004 Phone Kit

Hi,

i have a XC90 2004 and it comes with a comical volvo handset for the phone and a way of loading the sim card in the radio consol. i was hoping that i could find some way of connecting a normal phone to this point without needing to remove the sim card and therefore use the built in speakers and mic.

any ideas?

Tim

Hi, best thing to do get is one of the Parrot Bluetooth kits IMO.
I have the MKi 9200 & it's very good, plays the ipod / iphone music, as well as other devices such as usb, sd etc.

Yep, it all plugs in to your existing system, calls are played through the speakers & you will have a mic which mounts up beside the rear view mirror, it even uses a new lead for fibre optic connection nowadays which it didn't before, meaning it can connect to the amp & retain sound quality. Previous versions had to bypass the car amp. This lead is separate
Not sure of your skills, but it's definitley an easy DIY job for most people, I chose to have it installed by an auto elec though as i'm not too familiar with these things. That said, i would do it myself next time after having a root around I could see how it was all done.
If you search online you can find them for various prices, circa the £140 mark
