Default Firmware upgrade broke my Volvo?

In essence:

Had my first service at Sturgess of Leicester on thurs
My entirely superfluous massage function on the drivers seat hadn't worked for 6 months so I asked them to fix it
They spent some time swapping leads round in the seats and realised they couldn't fix it easily
On the way home realised that the heated seats were not working
The next day the car was as dead as the proverbial dodo.
Tried to charge battery still dead
Called Volvo assist who said the firmware upgrade had stopped the car powering down
Not sure what the truth is......

Sounds like a faulty repair to me.

Say it was wrong from the moment you picked it up - and insist they sort it!

May just be a coincidence but had 2nd service on my MY10 3 weeks ago with software upgrade and today the 'Engine System Service Urgent' warning + triangle came on and car went into limp mode.

Volvo assist say they have had lots of calls re flat batteries in c70 and xc90's after the "upgrade". Once the battery is charged and the car reset it goes away

Had the first service, including software updates, on our 2011 XC90 yesterday. Came to start it this morning... flat battery!

Looks like this problem may be back, had my first service on Thursday, went to start my car this morning and the dash was flashing like a Christmas Tree, On-call service message, then Brake failure message and wouldn't start. Volvo Assist are charging the car up at the minute so I await the final diagnosis.

Battery charged and battery reset performed, whilst he couldn't be 100% certain it is very likely that the software update caused the problem.
