Door card removal
Is there anything I need to know about removing the door cards? any hidden screws or easily broken catches? sorry to ask but when I went to Halfords today they were sold out of Haynes manuals for the S60.

Hello, After you remove the large screws which hold the armrest and the small screw in the finger pocket of the door release handle, the panel will "pry" off with a 1" to 1.5" putty knife. You will break one or three of the barbed catches. It's inevitable. What you do is take one of the broken ones, or an accurate mental picture of a good one, to an auto body supply shop and buy a handful for much less than at a dealership. If there is none near you, ask at a competent parts shop. They might just have them "in a drawer". Exercise care when you peel away any waterproof paper or plastic. That stuff is never too thick and hearty. Why are you going into the door? Kira

IMHO
If the dealership put the grease on the door card - they should (surely) clean it off. Shouldn't they?

Do not try to pry off the door card until you have removed the plastic fasteners from down the front edge and along the bottom.
If you look at them you will see that there is a dot in the centre and you need to push this in with a small screwdriver or punch until you feel a slight click, if you go too far you will push the centre out all together (which is not a problem but you will have to find the bit to put back in again). This allows the plastic barbs on the fastener to retract and lets you pull it out without breaking anything. To put them back, you need to push the central pin back through until it is sticking out of the top of the fastener by about 5 mm and once the fastener is back in place, push the centre in to lock it.
