I doubt many will worry about using the hose pipe. Its a classic "been English"

we just do as we are told. The reason we have little water has very little to do with the lack of rain. Its to do with the terrible way the companies are allowed to operate and the lack of investment .The water in this country should never have been allowed to enter into the Private companies. It should belong to the country. And just how many people have ever been fined in court ??

I doubt very much the car wash "gangs" will be bothered. Our local one etc was in full effect yesterday And I cannot imagine the Royal Parks etc been allowed to turn into deserts .

i still use the greaseded lightening on the wife's golf. i comes up a treat, she even gets comments on how shiney it is. as for water shortage, we are an island surrounded by water, surely desalination is the way to go.

my personal recommendation is ONR the problem with many waterless systems and limited water systems is that there is not enough lubrication and removal of the grit which cause the problems so on dirty cars it can be risky.

At no point am i saying they are bad just i would usage on a truely dirty car...however one with light soiling should be fine you can fill buckets no problem so mix three up one for wheels and clean them and water them off after spraying with ONR

when using ONR also i find spraying it on then washing helps soften the dirt

car wash gangs and co can get "away" with it because they are operating as a business, hose pipe bans do not stop businesses from operating using hoses.

if done properly shine should be complete from the moment polishing is the only real way to get a proper reflection.

so until i have a ban i will get my hosepipe, Pressure washer and merrily Snow foam, 2BM, dry and do all the rest using lots of welsh water.

desalination is hugely expensive and our system frankly is not really setup to deal with it on a large scale.

To expensive, if they spent money fixing all the leaks we wouldnt have a water shortage anyway.

Really you need to look at the exact wording of your local laws regarding hosepipe bans anyway, some areas only have hosepipes banned, not buckets.

For instance, in my mates area its not allowed to fill paddling pools, but swimming pools are exempt and a swimming pool happens to be classed as a pool having a filter and pump on it.

We have nosy neighbours so im planning on filling ours with a bit of guttering from the tap to the pool if it comes to it.

Once the waters in it it stays there all summer so its not wasted.

"Band wagon" comes to mind. Probably OK in the short term but logic determines that it can't do any good in the long term. Check out ant detailing web site.
Whoops, sorry about the duplicate

I'm not being pedantic, just curious as to how companies as big as meguiars can make claims like that and get away with it.

The ban only applies to private individuals, businesses are not affected

Also, you can use a hosepipe to fill your pond if it has fish in. Although personally I'd rather fill my pond with water than a hosepipe

ONR was going to be my recommendation too. Ninja beat me to it.
