Default Lambda sensor access

Hi all. I need to change the front o2 sensor on my 2000 phase 2 V70 T5. Is there an easy way to get to this thing? - Underneath looks very tricky

LOL another lambda sensor... seems to be the current issue.

I got to mine with an adjustable spanner by lying over the engine from the front of the car. Put a piece of old carpet over first, give the sensor threads a squirt of WD40 the night before.
A light of some sort in there is useful as well.

You'll need to remove the air ducting that's in the way but it just slips off, then it's just a matter of wriggling yourself into there to get the spanner on and some leverage but it is possible. I found that once I'd cracked the tightness of the sensor it came out easily all the way.

HTH.

Volvo have a speacial tool for this job. Its basically a spanner cut down in length to make a stubby spanner.

Your best bet is to get the part No. from your existing one, it will be stamped on the body.

If you use the 10 digit Bosch No. you should be able to get one from a Bosch agent cheaper than from Volvo for the same part.
