Replacing hand brake glove/boot, help needed please
Hi guys, anyone replaced the hand brake boot and gear stick boot on a 2001 v70 T5 Mk 2, what's the easiest way to remove them, I have the new ones ready to go in but don't want to rush it and break something. I have done a search but nobody seems to have done one over your way, perhaps they don't flake so badly in cooler climes. Nothing on this in my workshop manuel either, thanks anyone

Handbrake shroud just unclips. It's in the Heinz manual. Under the shroud is the adjuster. Gear shroud, dunno, but I guess the same.

Gear shroud is easy. Remove the pen-holder. There are two clips at the front edge of the plastic trim around the gear lever. Press these back and lift the front edge, then back edge will unclip when you pull forward slightly. The centre section can then be unclipped from underneath, you will see the clips.
I've only ever taken mine off to get at other things, I've never replaced the actual gator so I don't know if you need to take off the knob, if you do, you'll probably need a new fixing clip? With the handbrake, if you need to remove the handle section at the top of the lever to get the gator over you'll need a new one. To take the handle off you cut the plastic along the top and then the new one pushes into place. |
