It was 48000 miles when i did the 200 cambelts in their heyday ,it may have been 36000 miles when launched in 1974 though . the 48000 service was a big one , plugs points ,dwell angle , ignition timing , valve clearance , cam belt , gearbox and axle oil change front wheel bearing adjustment .
Today the oils will be ok , use a genuine volvo cambelt , they were about £10 last time i bought one . The tensioner never needs changing , just make sure it spins freely without roughness or noise when spun by hand .

My record for changing a B21 cambelt with the alloy timing belt cover was 7 minutes . The lower pulley only needs removing on the B200 type engines with black plastic cover .

Hi, thanks for all the help. I didnt realise it was a non interference enigne (which is good) The last time i can see the changhe of belt was done was @ 41k (about 1990, aaarrhhh) but since then i cant seem to find record of it, even though the chap i bought it from very hot on doing the bits on the car when it needed it. I will definatly get it changed for peace of mind and get the full kit!! Thankyou!!
