Red face walnut dash trim removal ??

hi all i have walnut dash trim and im going to get it covered with a plastic wrap but i was wondering how i get the trim around the gear lever off(manual box) and how i get the cup holder out , ive had a quick look on the net and it seems you remove the pen holder first ,does this just prise out ? then there are two screws exposed for the cup holder along with another two underneath but how do i get the gear cowl off does it just pull or is it screwed underneath i would apreciate some replys and once i get it done i will post up some pics cheers gary

Hi Gary, the penholder snaps out, as well as the gearbox surround. If you close the cupholder lid till halfway, you can just get your fingers under the surround to pull it upwards

Gary,

I've been meaning to do this for some time to hide my walnut trim. Would you be able to take photos and type up a 'How To' guide?

Jim

Second that, had to remove my gear surround the other day, the gear surround should come up very easily if you use your fingers as described.

I spent ages waiting for the right XC90 that did not have walnut. Some like it, some don't - just like marmite.

Good luck with the project! Post some pics!

I also have walnut and don't like it much ... Does it cost much to wrap it?

Decide what colour you want to wrap it and i will get let you know a price.
Don't bother with the cheap stuff on ebay, you will need to buy some more when it starts to peel away

One things for sure. No matter how bad something may be, it will have been much much worse and with lots more drama for the spammer

I haven't looked at any wraps but some sort of aluminium like Volvo supply would be great. Also are you going to wrap the bit above the glove box and the ashtray in the rear console?

Thanks
