Default c70 air con problems

I've got a c70 2001. Last year the orange lightd started flashing on start up on the a/c panel. The car went back to volvo and a new sensor was fitted. After a while the fan became slightly noisier than usual but the difference was only really notiable at full fan speed. Now I get the same flashing lights after which the fan switches off. Turn off the ignition and back on and then fan starts but then switches off after the orange lights stat to flash. The next day all is fine again although the fan is still a bit noisier than usual. Its one of those really annoying intermittent ones - any ideas as to waht it might be and how much its likely to cost?

Hi.
Does it not say in the owners manual what the flashing light means?
Or is it just the usual 'If the light starts to flash, then get to your nearest Volvo dealer to have the system checked out ASAP'.
It never says 'and have £30-£100 ready for exploratory fees too' does it?

you will really need to get the codes read again to be sure what the problem is, it could be something like an overload which is being caused by the blower siezing up.

get the codes read and go from there, it will be cheap than buying new bits.

Yeah, I would bet the ECU is sensing overcurrent in the motor due to it seizing slightly so it probably wants lubricating, but as Bobcat says, pay the 30quid or whatever diagnostic fee and get the codes read first, rather than changing the wrong thingy.
