Looks like it's this car that has just been listed on ebay:

Hi Tony,
I know it's slow going so sorry about that. The manifold is now at my workshop so will finish welding on the new tip and send you a pic on the weekend. You will need to finish matching the intake flange openings which I started but never finished but apart from that it should last you a while and give you some extra squirt. As mentioned previously there is some external pitting from rust over the years but as it is mainly in the pipe section and not so much the bent manifold section would be easy to repair if it does hole in future. |

Hi Tony,
Couple of pics of the manifold, let me know if it looks alright to you and if so I'll weld on the new tip and send it off. Last edited by Burdekin; Jun 7th, 2012 at 20:36. |

I am the 'lovely young gentleman from Edinburgh'. I'm collecting the car on Saturday; providing the weather holds it should be a nice drive! We already have a '66 Amazon estate which is about to receive some 'road-salt rectification' after covering 20,000 largely trouble free miles since we bought it in 2008. We'll keep that one for high days and holidays. This one is to replace my daily commute 1970 MGB GT which is proving too small for our ever expanding puppy.

Good stuff and hope all goes well for you. I'm up in Aberdeen and if there anything you need a hand with or the odd spare part let me know.

The blue estate is now in Midlothian after an uneventful trip north (not that I'd expected otherwise, it is an Amazon after all). The car is great, a testament to the previous owners care and attention; it just needs a little TLC now to bring it back up to scratch, then into daily service. I hope it lasts us 37 years...
