registration changing...
My mum is in the process of buying a car off my uncle. He has changed the plate to the original and taken his personal one off.
Thats all gravy... But surely isnt the tax disc going to display the wrong reg? I know the DVLA change the reg over so im guessing they update their database to show that the new reg is taxed? Chris |

When the original plate is re-assigned to the vehicle, the DVLA office should issue a new tax disc showing the new registration there and then and they will take the old tax disc. The tax disc displayed in the car must have the vehicles registration as shown on the registration plates fitted to the car.

Indeed, when you get a new reg you also get a new Tax Disc, MOT and Reg doc so the chassis numbers (etc) match the car that the registration is on.

Yes, and if you're insurance company is particularly b******ly, they'll charge you an 'admin fee' for so doing...
I speak from experience, as I've kept the same reg on my last 6 cars. m.d.
