Default Took my car to the garage.....

A couple of days ago

Just recently i have noticed a lot of knocking from the front end of my V40 and when cornering a groaning noise coming from the offside strut, realised it must be the strut top mount so bit the bullet and took the car to the garage (I don't have the equipment or space to do the job).
They remove the strut from the car and while my regular mechanic is under there he does a thorough inspection, drop links sh#gged, arb bushes sh#gged total bill for the lot doing £365.00 (subframe has to be dropped, big job).

Today

Well the troubles continue, i now have the lambda light on (comes on approx 3mins after starting the engine and stays on) still got a slight knock from the front of the car diagnosed as slight play in the bottom (wishbone) balljoints.

I queried the wishbone balljoint on the neaside of the car as I had a brand new (supplied by the garage) wishbone fitted on the 17th june last year so it was (typical) just out of warranty, the play is very slight but to my mind it should have no play at all at just twelve months old. Come to think of it i had both droplinks replaced last year as well!!

Also, the lambda light was not on when i took the car into the garage but when i questioned that the boss told me "it didn't come on when i test drove the car". I have no way of proving it but is there any chance they could have damaged the sensor when they were farting about with the subframe?

I am starting to question the honesty and integrity of said garage as I have been using the same garage for the last 15-20 years.

I have just handed over £365 and still have problems with the car which, if i let them loose on it again (not a cat in hells chance) will cost me another couple of hundred quid, I am currently having serious doubts about the garage and this bloody money pit of a car, seriously and I do mean seriously considering cutting my losses and getting rid of it.

Were the parts the garage fitted genuine Volvo parts? I have heard stories of cheaper parts only lasting a year or so.
