Default trying to eliminate knocking from rear suspension

guys any advice appreciated, ive done some searchng but not got any conclusive results so far.

car is 2004 XC90 D5 SE manual.
had a rattly knocking sound when the car goes over any kind of bump on the roads, large or small bumps create the noise.

i got a pair of ARB drop links for the rear and swapped them the other week. im pretty sure it reduced the noise but not eliminated it.
next cheap fix im thinking ARB bush x2 to change.

seen these on Ebay...can someone confirm if its 21mm o/dia or 19mm o/dia ARB i'll have on my car?
yes i could get under there and measure with the calipers but its late/dark and id have to find an un-rusty piece of ARB to get an accuarate measure.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLVO-ANTI...ht_1364wt_1397

assuming i buy the correct ones and fit them and still have knocking...whats the next step? any common bushed on the wishbones or strut tops or something?

cheers in advance

We had a rear knocking noise from or 54 reg earlier in the year - the arm on the rear exhaust corroded off and was no longer being held in place by the rubber holder. Luckily the arm was still fixed into the rubber holder so I got it welded, but might it be worth checking it's not the exhaust? Sorry if you already checked, but thought I'd mention it as the symptoms are exactly the same

Cheers

Mike

Cheers Mike, your right. I'll have a look, could be as simple as that

Yeh, the exhaust hanging brackets are on the centre pipe at the rear and rust badly and fall off.

I have welded both of mine back on, but there is a repair bracket available (even on ebay for £14) for those that cant weld.

The rear hanger seems to last ok...so far.
