Default Problem with my 940T 94

Hi, im new to the forum first of all i'm from Quebec so im a french guy. I have a little transmision problem. Here i'll explain. When my car is cold i can easily go in reverse but when it's hot .. there is nothing moving .. no reverse .. im giving my car gases. and its sounds like im on neutral but i'm on reverse. I'm reving at like 4100 at 100km/h which is like nothing economic .. and sometimes it downshift for no reason.

Another problem is when i open the driver door, roof light is suposed to open but nothing. I look up on the user guide and its on the good position i try them all. Light is working only when i put it on "Always on".

Next thing is my HID Headlights stays open when my key is at "ON" i cant close them with the switch like i usualy do with my other car .. it's a little bit disturbing for my neightboor at night time.

If you guys have any idea how to fix those 3 problem. Dont be shy and comment.

Thanks.

Hi,

You need to check your gearbox oil to see what state it is in. Should be pinkish. If not you'll probably need to drain and flush it.

You have HID's??!! Since when were 900 series fitted with them?
Or has the previous owner fitted them and made a slight error in the wiring?

Des. . .

Is your car automatic or manual ?

I think when you are talking about the headlights you mean DRL's (Daytime Running Lights) or the dipped beam headlamps that come on when the ignition is turned on.
In most countries this is normal and Volvo fitted them as a safety feature.

Welcome

I think he means his headlights Des.

The answer to your question Achenty, is that the lights can't be turned off, they're called daytime running lights, they can be turned down by moving the switch to the middle, but not off completely.

(presuming they're the same on your side of the Atlantic)

Hope this helps,

Steve

Damn, Steve beat me to it!!

Yes the previous owner installed HID on it. I look at my tranny dipstick. Oil level is. At max. Color is like red dark chocolate.

I was wrong anyway !
I can't suggest anything with the lights other than to wire them up differently somehow.

The trans fluid doesn't sound too good. You could try changing it to seeif that helps.
