Default Vibration / Shudder when at stop, but not always in Neutral or Park

I have got this vibration shudder when the car is in gear, but she drives smooth once up and running

I am also starting to hear the vibration slightly when turning right or left at most speeds, would the engine be putting more pressure on the engine mounts when turning.

Sometimes when the car is pointing downhill at a junction, there is no vibration at all, like wise sometimes at idle, on the flat.

Would the vibration from the mounts be intermittent if they are not good.
What is the best pointer to know if my mounts are blown.
How far should the fan be from the bottom of the shroud.

Many thanks

Try to see if you can move the crank(front pulley forwards and backwards at all.
If the rubber mountings look in good nick and no seperation of the rubbr from the metal bits, then try rocking the engine from side to side and see what it's like.
I presume it's not missing at all and making the engine rock about.
Have you also looked at the engine when it's happening to see if it's moving about a lot?
If it is'nt then it may be something in the gearbox.

Check the Vibration damper on the crankshaft nose (it doubles as auxiliary drive belt pulley) for separation from the centre fixing. When the rubber bonding between the pulley outer and the centre is starting to give way, it produces vibration which can be difficult to trace. Only cure is a new item.

Well, i took the car to a Volvo garage as i was so fed up with it, and they found the problem in 20 mins, my mechanic had put the gearbox mount the wrong way up when he installed it in Sept, i can't believe it !!!!

Lovely smooth ride now

Thanks
