Red face Grom Bluetooth

Hi there

I have installed a grom unit with iphone dock and bluetooth. Problem is it kerps trying to play audio through both at the same time, resulting in stuttering. I have tried allowing bluetooth to connect first, before plugging in the dock, with the sane results.

I can manuslly force the iphone to use the connector, but after a csll it will try to play audio on bluetooth again. Cant really then be faffing about on the phine whilst driving.

Anyone else having a problem with this? Maddeningly I do not seem to be able to simply turn off A2DP bluetooth settings on the iphone. Grrhh.

Thanks. Help much appreciated.

Sorry hadn't spotted that part, AFAIK there isn't a way to get an iPhone just to use the HFP profile, once it connects it will grab whatever service is available, mine does the same thing which can be annoying if I want to use A2DP from a different device - Mike

You can disable A2DP here http://www.if0rce.com/en/bluetooth-service-manager/

I've got a Grom and never had this problem with mine. However, just paired the wifes phone to my grom aswell and it went a bit mad with the music like your problem.

However, i reset it all, paired both phones and it all works ok again now.

Below is instructions from car-puter.

To reset the dongle, with radio on, disconnect dongle from Grom box for about 2-3 seconds, reconnect dongle to Grom box (make sure it is connected to EXT port), go from FM etc. into CD changer / Grom mode, within 3 seconds press SCAN button on your radio. You should hear a beep (might be low in volume), if your phone was connected to Bluetooth it should disconnect. If you do not hear the beep, please go back to FM mode, then switch back to Cd changer / Grom mode and press SCAN again within 3 seconds. Hearing the low beep or the phone disconnect will verify that the dongle has been reset.

Turn off car, wait about 20 seconds for Grom to completely turn off, turn ignition back on, repair phone.

I didn't bother unpluggin mine. i set the radio to cd changer (grom) then switched ignition off for 30 secs. held down the scan button and switched the ignition back on, wait to hear the beeps and then paired my phone back up with it. When connected tot he cable, music plays through that even though bluetooth is on. No probs. CAlls still come through via bluetooth
