Question ECC controls illumination at night

Sorry to post this here but no one could help in the S60 section, hoping this may be more general than the S60 and someone will be able to help?

I noticed the other night that my left temp control on my ECC is only half lit up, from 20 up it is not visable at night, all the rest of my console and dash lights up fine.

Am I right in thinking that the ECC is a single sealed unit and so I will not just be able to pop the front off and change the blown bulb/led?

If it can be done does anyone know how the panel comes off as don't want to yank it off and break any clips etc?

Hi Ash, dont know if this is of any help....But when the bulbs go on an 850 or V70, you have to take the top of the dash off, so you can pull out the whole binacle to get to the bulb holders. Not a hard job to do, just lots of Torx screws to undo. If you can get a Haynes manual for your car (or is it to new ?), should tell you how to do it.

Hope you get it sorted. DB
