Default High beam bulb

Hi all
I have ordered some osram night breakers for my normal beam (H7's) and also, i thought i would get some 100W high beam bulbs (HB3's) as i do a lot of country road driving and with winter approaching, most of my commuting is going to be done in the dark. I know they are road illegal but as with all high beam use, they will be dipped for oncoming vehicals! My concern is that they will damage the headlight lenses as i assume they will be a fair bit hotter, although they wouldn't be on as permanent as the normal beam bulbs!

Many thanks for any advice.

What is the power of the standard bulb, if it's a big difference it may blow the fuse, fit a bigger fuse and it may burn out the wiring.

The standard bulbs are always - per EU laws - 55W. Xenons are 35W.

chances are you will damage something if you know this to bit in bold why do it? your insurers will not cover you in an accident if not declared, which these are illegal so chances are not accepted, an accident will highly likely then void your insurance need i say more.

Yeah cheers Ninja, advice taken. Since posting this thread, iv'e realized that they do night breakers for all the bulbs i:e H7,HB3 & H11 so i think i will kit out my headlamps & fogs with those and keep it legit!
