Default Traffic Information in SatNav disappears with chg of scale

Hi everyone - I've scoured the forums for a similar issue to this but can't find one, so here goes:

The RTI in my S80 DrivE is making me go nuts. The traffic information only displays when the scale chosen is '6 miles' or greater. Anything less (3, 1.5 etc) the traffic arrows/lines _usually_ disappear. I've run through every option I can find and cannot for the life of me find a way of making the data display consistently.

It is even more frustrating in that about 20% of the time it seems to work ok.

Any help appreciated - I'm based in west/north-London and am using ClassicFM as the source.

Thanks
RM

have you a route set? Otherwise it may only show problems in the area set by the map scale. Personally, so far, I've not found the traffic info feature much use.

Hi Paul - It doesn't seem to make a difference whether a route is set. It's an utterly bizarre problem.

Did you contact Volvo about the problem?

Not as yet. I was going to do it at the next service. Maybe a techician just needs to show me how to press the right buttons.

Just a quick update on this.. two years on. Despite a number of visits to my dealer, Volvo have now concluded that the RTI is supposed to work this way.

Personally I cannot believe that if traffic congestion is indicated on a map of 6mile scale, then the system is working correctly if all the traffic congestion arrows disappear on 3mi (or less) scale.

I have given up.
