Default T5 Hard Changes - Valve Body or Solenoids?

Hi Everyone...

My latest addition to the fleet is a rather nice 2002 T5.....

... But ! (there's always a but)

It has the hard shifting when hot issue, I believe this is related to the linear solenoids...

Seems that they "crud" up and are slow to operate

Has anyone had any success in cleaning these? - or flushing the box to cure this issue -
I read somewhere that seafoam trans tune is the stuff to try - but i cant find it in the uk... likewise any repair kits for the linear solenoids - seems that the yanks have more knowledge when it come's to repairing auto's
Anyone you ask in the UK seems to be under the impression that automatic boxes are an abomination, the work of satan & you have to be a master in the black arts to work on them!!

I Guess i'm looking for an easy fix rather than pulling the valve body

There's no stored codes, all the solenoids pull current & the fluid is very dirty but not burnt (137k on i guess original fluid)

(quote from my local indy... "Dunno mate, get a 2nd hand box or convert it to manual..... give ya £100 scrap for it")... Mind you he aslo thought that VADiS was that bloke from star wars...

TIA

Steve

Let us know how you get on if you decide to try the guide.
I did mine following that guide a few weeks ago. It worked a treat. Just remember to get the adaptions reset after.
The guide is slightly different for the v70 but it's all self explanitary.

I assume you have checked the obvious like top torque mount and bottom torque mount, small bush before diving into the solenoids. Also, I'd replace the ATF as a matter of course.
