Fuel pressure regulator replacement
Hey guys
Im lkg to replace my V40 2L, 2001 auto (non turbo) fuel pressure regulator. As far as I can see it gets kept into place at the end of the fuel rail by a clip. Is this it? Remove the clip, pull out the regulator. Replace regulator and replace clip then start? Is there anything else i need to know like air in the system? Bleeding the system??? If it wasn't for badluck, I would not have luck at all. And sometimes the slightest thing becomes a project and a half. Lol. |

The fuel system will drop in fuel pressure when you turn the engine off, its not pressurised all the time, only when the fuel pump is running is it pressurised but can take a bit of time for all the pressure to go from the system.

Well, when the car is normal operating temp and I want to start it. The engine turns for a while before firing up. It is quite a problem as I would really like my car to start when the key is turned and not have a good think before it responds. lol. I have been reading all the issues regarding that and the most common explination on the forum is the fuel pressure regulator.
