Default V40 Electric Window prob

My 1999 V40 2.0 T se has a problem where the electric windows only work intermittently. The car has front E/W only but both the passenger and drivers windows usually go down easily but dont like going up again.I think it unlikely to be a switch as both the centre console and the drivers door switches are the same.usually if you play with them they go up either after a few attempts or if you are `snappy` with the switches, The windows once the switches activate go up fine and smooth with no judders but I darent open them in winter in case they don`t go up again!!has anyone had any similar probs.Has anyone any idea of the cost of the switches and if it`s an easy job.

Default RE: V40 Electric Window prob

Try pulling up on the glass and see if they go up ok then,if so then get around the runners in the doors with WD40.

Default v40 electric windows not working

all the windows stopped working but the arm rest console lights up so i have power to the console .. it buzzes for a few seconds then dies .. i have bought a new arm console thinking that replace the whole cosole and it would fix the problem .. same thing happens .. all the green display lights come on it buzzes upon use then dies .. i have replaced the internal fuse .. another quirky thing .. the mirrors and central locking work fine
