Shame it doesnt differentiate between estates and saloons. I see that there are just over 400 GL autos - I suspect that this is a mixture of the two. Thats unless some have been entered under the other GL category? Chatting to one of the old hands at Braydons the other day he was of the view that the number of saloons had decreased dramatically over recent years. Thinking about it, this seems about right. Apart from the '86 one owned by a retired chap in my village I very rarely see one on my travels - certainly not as often as I used to say 5 years ago. I still see estates fairly often. .

After reading all this my 93 Torslander is getting new headlights. I have had this car for ten years. 120.000 miles starts every time, exhaust parts every couple of years, wish I had bought stainless, new radiator and battery last year. Paint as good as new. I read the people who made the cars in Gothenburg took great pride in their work with the 240 and 940.
And it shows even today. The door locks never seIze in the winter, doors never sag or locks or anything else for that matter don't fall apart.(sorry Renault I had too many years with you) Brake lines cant rust and a section needing replacing every M.O.T. Brake disks not scored after twenty years..Ride smooth and fast enough on motorways, wind noise?,what wind noise. Do we love our volvo's, you bet Anyone with parts though as yet don't need them for Torslander, please contact me. |
