Default V60 - Frozen Washer Sensor Alert - Help

Hi All,

First time poster so hopefully you guys can help.

About a week ago I got a "Frozen Washer Nozzle" or similar (can't remember exactly) fault display came up on the dash during the cold weather.

Temp was around -4, no probs as with various cars at this temp the washers will not operate so just left.

Left and waited for the temp to rise (1 week) however although there is no visable fault display, the washer pump will not operate.

The wipers work (front and back) and the nozzle heater fuse is OK, just wondered if something has to be rest or is there something obvious I am missing.

When I attempt to operate front or back washers, no pump noise is audable.

Hopefully you can help..

Thanks

Have you checked the fuse for the Pump?

I have been anoyed with AC Volvo Aberdeen as they never use the Volvo Screenwash (-10 at 25% mix), just cheep stuff as they give you a free top up etc. Mind they always charge you for it!

I dont know about the Volvo but on Vauxhaulls if you operate the pump with it frozen it blows the pump fuse. This would be my first guess.

Im going make sure my bottle is full next time and ask them to leave it in the glove box.

Is that an acronym standing for Arnold Clark if so the problems start there.

It's so annoying you take your car to Volvo for a service and always they always try and sell a cheaper alternative? Then are shown to a ford courtesy car?

I don't understand do they pay a premium to volvo if they conduct the actual Volvo service?

And why can the courtesy car not be of the same manufacturer (hate ford was in a bad smash years ago and it fell to bits hence why Volvo now).

Just annoys me, even went to parts to buy Volvo screenwash as was actually good value, and they tried to sell me some buck shee stuff with no winter rating (told that's what the workshop use).

They better be using the correct fkn oil!

Yes your guess was correct with the acronym.

Went to AC and they think both pumps may have blown fuses and will need to run a bench test diagnostic on the pump (Really would that be required for a sensor fault) when both pumps have different supplies
