It gets washed TWICE (seriously!) a year and one of those is the complimentary one from Volvo when it has it's yearly MOT/service and in terms of reliability all it's ever asked for in the 160k my dads put on it is an engine mount - Brilliant car. He's been looking to replace it with an Audi TT for the quattro system or maybe a V40 but he fears they won't be as reliable.m










No rust at all. Mine gets washed every week and also has no rust - 140k

I know where you're coming from with that but I'm coming round to injection and electronic ignition. With a carb and a distributor it was relatively simple to fix with a spanner and screwdriver but with forums like this and the web it's got a lot easier to find out how to fix the newer systems.

I've seen my Dad-In-Law pick up his new car every 3 years in the 30 odd years I've known him. I've lost count of the number of 'arguements / disputes' he has had over the years.....

My current 2 cost me a total of £1850. One was 14 & one 13 at their respective time of purchase. Now one is 23 & the 'young'n' is nearly 17.
