Tip here: To remove a lambda sensor, first squirt Plus Gas into the bolt - only do this with a COLD exhaust though. After about 30 mins you can easily unbolt it.

That looks like it. I take I'm back to pulling out the grommet and the connector is behind?

Glad you are tracking this down - sorry if I caused any confusion by assuming that the Volvo 1.8 and the Volvo 2.0 were the same! Only have experience of the latter.....

No worries mate, we got there in the end. I'll be ordering the sensor tomorrow and sticking it on at the weekend all being well. Then the MoT beckons.

The sensor arrived in the post yesterday but I was already half way through changing a CV joint boot on my Audi so it got bumped until today.
It was colder than yesterday this morning I did briefly wonder why it's an O2 sensor and not just an O sensor but only as a means of stalling. Up onto the ramps she went. Mrs K had just come back from Tesco in it so the cat was too hot to touch. I doused it in 3-in-1 and left it to cool for a bit. Two minutes with a spanner saw this sat on the bin. Doesn't look like 100 quid's worth to me either. Another go with the excellent torque app saw this screen and promising message displayed. And it's running in closed loop mode not open loop system fault mode. Most importantly, the dashboard is warning light free. |

Well done Keith - good job done!
And I know exactly what you mean about them not looking anywhere worth their cost.... David |

The big old Audi in the background in the pics cost about the same as a full set of engine sensors.
