Default No Revs on Start

Today the temperature is -4 according to the dash temperarture indicator.
My 05 Volvo V50 Diesel 2L starts but will not rev over about 1200.
This problem became visible for the first time today.

The car has required an anti skid for the past month but I have not got around to it.

I thought initially that the problem might be related to the cold and am running the Engine for it to warm up.

It was quite alarmng today, because of the cold and ice on roads I drove out of the housing estate at very low speed and only realised that the problem existed when I was on a main road.

The oil light is on on ignition and then goes away.
The oil is filthy.

The car was shaking in first gear earlier. However the car does not shake in neutral.

I am not seeking advice on how to repair this personally but would like an indicator re costs etc.

Lad popped over and reset the diagnostic codes.
Car started immediately no error messages on dash.

Sounds like the old "throttle body" needs a clean problem. Tis well documented on here on how to clean or replace.
