Good engine if it is cared for...
Is it the D24TIC or a simple D24T or the gutless D24 with not T? Friend had a D24TIC putting out 173 hp running on veggie oil and lard (not kidding). That thing had more power and torque than you would expect and had a nice smell to it Like following the fish and chip shop around

Don't think we ever had D24 non-turbo's over here (apart from in VW vans maybe). Or the D20 engine.
I have seen some 740/940 D24T without intercoolers though. Easy to tell by the turbo pipework.

The D20 wasn't available in the 700/900 (only 200). The D24 should have been available in the 240 and 260... At least that was the first diesel model Volvo offered here... Anyhow: the D24TIC is a neat piece of gear... And when set up right very fast for it's age!

What are you getting to the gallon with the D24Tic & Auto?
I can't keep you with your cars, how many this last year?!

27 with a heavy right foot (Same driving style on a petrol would yield 22mpg)
Theoretical 31mpg as veg is cheaper than petrol ^^ Ermmmm 4th in the last year I think possibly 5th 12th overall |
