I have heard of a few guys just deleting / removing the DPF seems pointless to keep getting it replaced / sorted if you can just remove it?

removing the DPF itself, won't fix a sensor error, and possibly may call car to fail particulate test at MOT time.

Default Another case with ECM-2002

Just to add another case with 2005 Volvo V50 2.0D having ECM-2002. I had my DPF changed due clogged filter 20000km ago and my car went again to limp mode. Found out with cheap OBD reader code P2002, which lead to this thread. Problem is now solved and it was caused by leakage in rubbery pipe leading to pressure sensor from DPF. Actually whole rubbery pipe crumbled completely when we removed it.

I'll post an update once it's done and see what is the outcome.

I understand the frustration the limp mode causes and I even thought of selling the car. But given its pretty image and comfy seat, it'll be nice to get it fixed.

My suggestion to damo99 is to definitely get the fault message read out and decide what step to take.
i think it is the sensor not the DPF
