Thumbs up Polly Bushes

I am looking to fit polly bushes to my S60 2.3 T5. Does anybody know what bushes to change? how many are there? Do I have to change all of them, or will a couple of KEY bushes do? Is there a company that sells a kit, cheaper than buying one at a time. I have got full race suspension fitted by leda. Fantasic handling, except when pushing hard round islands, then the back breaks away first, then the front, it just wants to go straight. Help!!!

I'd suggest you change all of them or at least the entire load of the suspension ie front or rear depends which end you're doing. Never use Poly bushes on a Volvo have on the Range Rover which is why i'd suggest you replace all as the drive was horrible until i replaced the entire suspension set.

Good evening Dave,

I keep the two front lower suspension bushes from Powerflex in stock.

They replace the stock voided rubber bushes on these cars that break up with age.

You really should not have a problem with your Leda suspension if it is set up properly. You can only adjust the front ride height, the rear being set, however you should be able to get the car handling very well if you have the damper settings right and have at least 1 degree of negative camber at the front.

What spring rates have you fitted and how many clicks do you have front and rear?

Regards, Don.Norchi.

Hi Don
When I bought the car, it had the sports pack fitted. ie. 18" wheels lowered & uprated shocks/springs. The Leda set up is: rear: I kept the volvo sports springs, leda ajustable damping units, whth 8 clicks. Front 275 spings height ajustable & 8 clicks on the damping, it has race front top mounts [steel with bearings] when the car was three years old, the first mot, they picked up worn bushes on the 'A' frames. The 'A' frames were replaced under waranty 7000 miles ago, so the bushes are new. the ecu has been tweeked by volvo themselves, and I run it on shell opimax. Tyres Perelli P Rosso 235 x 40 x 18. I was contemplating fitting softer rubber to the back. I am not bothered about the wear, I think the softer compound will grip a bit more. Leda got the suspension settings exactly the same as the original. If you have any experience on this type of set up, I would welcome your advice. Dave Clarke
