Question uk headlights in europe

Hi, I have a R/H drive V70 which I use in spain. Plod are tightening up on uk platers so looks like I must pay an exhorbitant amount to put the car on spanish plates. One of the requirements is correct head light alignment.
I have adjusted them and to me they look fine pointing to the right. Has anyone found adjusting uk h/lights has met with approval or was it necessary to fit european h/light units. Thanks jack.

Consider a set of projector lens headlights for it as these can be adjusted by moving a lever within the headlight for LH or RH Drive this rotates the beam cut-off pattern to make the beam pattern correct which is a different issue to beam alignment - Mike

When I lived in France there was a guy who made a living "adjusting" people's headlights.

He was able to do most cars, but there were some that couldn't be done. I think it was a little bit more involved than twiddling a few screws though - but I've no idea how he did it.

I ended up buying my V40 headlights from Ebay Germany, they were a LOT cheaper than buying them in France.

You may still have a problem if you have adjusted the normal "right hand drive" headlamp as it is mainly the glass that determines the beam.

That is why you have stick on beam deflectors when having a quick visit abroad.

Surely it would be cheaper and easier to just change the glass over to "left hand drive" units.

Check with Volvo as they sell the lens separate for RHD or LHD cars.

Question

Hi 960kg, Thanks very much for that. That sounds so obvious as to be brilliant. So I just need a pair of LHD headlight lenses ?
