Thumbs up Make Do and Mend...... The sensible option.

I also think you have done the wise thing.

A few weeks ago I was tempted to replace our V70 with something more modern and economical but then got my sensible head back on and kept the Volvo.

It has a few minor niggles but they won't cost much to fix, its comfy and pulls our caravan very well and the other half loves it because it was her late Fathers car .... Oh, and I enjoy keeping it healthy with a regular 'italian service'.

Absolutely agree with all the above, bought my T5 almost a year ago, yes I have spent a bit on her, tyres, battery which dont really count, few odds and sods to do, but the car is so much fun ! and I deliver cars for a job, anything from a smart car ( yuk) to a Bentley vis Beemesrs and Mercs which are good, but not the character, capabilities and pleasure of my T855
