Default Large dog transporting in a V70

I have two large lively pups and need to fold the rear seats forward to accomodate them comfortably in my V70 , This makes the standard seat belt fixing points inaccesable so how can I transport my pups legally in my car .

Any advice appreciated

Wow Chris, they must be large dogs, even as pups.
We comfortably transport our large DobermanxGreyhound, a Whippet and sometime one other in the rear of our V70 without the need for folding down the rear seats. Admittedly these are older, calmer dogs. The dogs are the reason we got our V70 - probably the best dog car around!

If yours are so boisterous I would suggest the best & safest way would be to crate them in a dog cage - there are plenty of options and sizes available.
This will keep them contained and safe and ensure the safety of other occupants.

The pups are generally well behaved but the 12 month old Bullmastiff is a nosey bugger and likes to look outside the car whereas the 8 month DDB just likes to stretch out and enjoy the ride , They currently weigh 44kg each so perhaps I need a van
In the meantime I just want some means of transporting/restraining them legally , Any suggestions ?

Up till recently we had three dogs, all smaller than yours mind. This in our 850 Est.
We have Barjo dog guard and tailgate guard. Great bits of kit.

Have a look here: http://www.barjo.co.uk/products/dog-guards

They're bound to have them to fit yours. They are not cheap though . Another option is to look on fleabay, they do often pop up and can be had for a 'snip '

Are you thinking of some sort of harness/safety belt for them? In the past I have seen various adapters for fitting extra belts such as for child seat securing and it could be possible to use the seatbelt anchoring points under the boot floor (from the 7seat position), might be worth finding an 'In car Safety' specialist to see if they could suggest anything.

We carry two large Rottweilers in our v70 without having to put the rear seats down just have the oe dog guard and both dogs have plenty of room, they just roll up a sleep most of the time but even when standing there's still comfortably plenty of room for them.

My doggy is an 80Kg Neapolitan Mastiff and he fits in behind the drop down guard. If he has too much room he mucks about, this way he just lays down and sleeps. He can't sit up, because the V70 isn't tall enough but he can lie down no problem!
