Default A few little jobs done

ok so I spent some time doing a few little jobs that needed doing..

Firstly I changed the auto transmission fluid..

emptied the sump, topped back up, went for a spin and repeated 3 times

fluid looking nice and red now, and the gear changes are a lot smoother

195k on the clock and probably first time its been done.. only took an hour

second job was to fit a strut brace.. brought from Paffell, tyvm

20 mins and 6 bolts to do it..

last little job was to fit the k+n.. sounding nice now..

Went through MOT on Saturday with only one advisory.. brake hoses on the front are a bit worn, but I got a new set already to go on.. didn't change before as it was gonna be a pain to undo the connections. shall have another go when I don't need the car for a couple of days

One small issue I do have though is a leak from the drivers side steering rack.. leaking out from seal behind the gator.. spoke to my mot man, who has his own Volvos (which is handy as hes sympathetic) and he reckons not to worry to much..

I have used the stop leak stuff and it seems to have slowed it down or may have even stopped it.

Only problem is a small amount of play before the wheels turn, and the steering feels a bit funny when going over a rough surface.. I know that's not an accurate description..

it just seems very susceptible to 'pulling' either left or right a little bit when going on rough tarmac.. i'm gonna assume its gonna be the steering rack that's gonna be the problem..

its had new shocks, tyres in the last year, and os suspension top mount was changed as well..

any ideas before I source a econ rack?
