D5 gearbox

Does anyone know if the v50 6 speed gearbox in a D5 engine is the same as the 2.0litre ?

No the 2.0 is a powershift , a completely different gearbox .. unless you meant the D3/D4 2.0 ?

Thanks Clan. Theres a V50 D5 on ebay for siily money with gearbox problems bur just wondered what a replacement gearbox would cost.

manual or auto? they are about £2500 for a manual or £3500 for an auto for a new one from volvo .

It may not need a new box, mine does this but that that bad im going to do anything about it yet, if you search on google you will find a huge thread on a nissan gearbox that is essentially the same as the volvo one, these is a shift kit made my transgo that i would try which cleans out the solenoids and replaces filters and that in the vale body of the gearbox, im going to order one next month and have a go. But this isnt a definate fix, its a try it and see.
