Default wishbone

removal was easy, and locating the ball joint pinch bolt all really easy, however although the new unit is identicle in size and shape the two ends that fasten to the chassis are different, the old one that came off had adjustable bolts that fastened either end of the bush through the chassis, the new unit was supplied with just a nut n bolt, there is nowhere this will attach to, even if I could get the old bolts off the old unit they are also a different thickness n wont fit the new unit, have I purchased the wrong unit or is there an after market kit to make this unit fit

I bet you have purchased three bolt wishbones when you need the five bolt style,

Three bolt there are two bolts that go through "ears" welded to the outboard side of the engine subframe and the third bolt locks the strut in to the bottom of the suspension strut.

Five bolt have four bolts running through the subframe with the heads of the attachment bolts accessible from under the engine/ gearbox and the fifth bolt securing the wishbone to the bottom of the suspension strut - Mike

yep that sounds about right, four long bolts through the subframe that fasten either side of the two bushes

nothing I can do to make it fit??

does the 5 bolt come with the adjustable nuts for the subframe bolts or are these separate to buy

The five bolt version comes complete with the threaded sections fitted to the wishbone so the bolts simply go straight through the subframe and in to the threaded portion of the wishbone. It is worth checking when you order if you get new bolts though as not all are supplied with them - Mike
