Hey Im in Langley by uxbridge but still can commute to Barking. What I can do is... I have one of the shafts, the longer side which I can come with to see if it fits into the M56 box on your P2 so that would mean that the shorter side will be the same g/box number of splines as the one for P1. Or maybe I might just get the whole drive shaft and hubs from you if the P1 shaft fits into the P2 gearbox
Let me know if you need help taking out the parts I could come and we'll work on that together and will load into my estate. Im usually free saturdays

I will remove the longer drive shaft tomorrow evening and measure the number of splines and the diameter. If they are the same, you can have them next weekend, as I will have to scrap the car first. Car is on my drive and needs to be on its wheels and able to roll.

sweet. the reason I wanted both hubs is that the ones on mine are well rusted and one of the bearings are knackered but can still spin, makes a grinding noise and the discs are corroded into the bearings so cant come out on both and I needed to change discs. the car has been left unattended for a long time.. so if you need to roll, I can swap my hubs for yours and take your drive shafts as well so in that way you can still have the wheels on so I can come with my hubs next weekend. How are your hubs looking in terms of corrosion? and how are the bearings looking?

Ok, I have removed the driver's side driveshaft and the diameter on both ends is 26.5mm and both sides have 26 splines. The hubs are both rusty, but then again, that is the case for all hubs..... The bearings are perfectly fine on both sides, so it is your call. Let me know if any of the stuff is any good and we can take it from there. If they are and you want to come over tomorrow, feel free to do so, as I will be in all day.

Thanks Gatos for saturday.. I think I will now be looking for anyone breaking ph1 s40 T4 so I can get the ECU, immobilizer unit (blue box), antenna, ignition switch and keys :-) I did think about getting another 1.9 T4 but not sure where to get a cat c damaged one.. I will start a blog on my project.. :-)
Any ideas? I actually called up my local volvo dealership to see if they can programme a new transponder into the immobilizer unit and ecu and they need the car present. I mentioned that I had scrapped the car and used the engine and ecu in another car so they said it wasn't possible.. Not sure what to do now, perhaps look for someone breaking a ph1 T4

Not to hijack the thread but if you could wait a few days, my T4 may be coming up for sale.

Its lost compression on cylinder number 3 so I'm in the middle of removing the head to see what the cause is.

I'll most likely sell the car as a whole instead of completely breaking it up but it will depend on what I can get for it.

As I said, you might be able to bypass everything if you are going to have a separate feed to the fuel pump. I will try to find out what the immobiliser controls exactly and let you know

Not a problem chomerly. If this helps both of you, then that's all that matters
