Default Oil for a V70?

I've been doing my best to search the forum first but for some reason won't work on my phone. So what I'd like to know is what oil does a. 2.5 mk1 v70 1998 model take?
Many thanks

I use 5/30 fully synthetic in mine, have a look in your local Halfords as they have been selling off 5/30 FS for £10 for 4L recently, stock check your local store before making a trip though - You will need about 6,5L for an oil change and filter.
Others will use part synthetic but the choice is really yours - Mike

2.5 non turbo, go 10w/40 semi-synth. If T5 then go 5w....

I used 5w for a few years doing 5k changes on my 2.5 20v n/a and ended up with a bad 'knocking' top end on cold start up. Following advice from here, I went to 10w and over a few worrying weeks it is sorted, for over a year now

Mines 850 2.5 20v btw.

Euro car parts is a good place for oil now, buy on-line with free delivery or click and collect.
On-line prices & click & collect are cheaper that buying direct from their shops, so that's what I do now.
Get on their e-mailing list, they always have offers on.

Well seeing as I have 10l of 10w/40 part synthetic lying around I think I'll use that. Thank you everyone for your help.
