Question Shifter Blob Popped Off... Am I Gonna Ruin My Car?

Obviously, I'm talking about the M46, and specifically the overdrive wiring.
To my delight, I found that my car actually has the wires for the OD running up into the shifter blob (since k-n-o-b is censored) when it popped off in my hand today, so I decided to check it out. To my dismay, they were all curled down inside the tube and not attached to the little prongs inside the shifter blob. I reconnected them as best I could, but they were both blue in color and identical looking, so I have no idea if I put them on backwards or not.

If I did wire them backwards, will the OD still work? Or will it damage the OD mechanism? Fry the OD wiring? Blow my fuses? Cause my POS car to explode? How would I even tell the wires apart, since they're not marked?

Seriously?

My electrical wiring instincts tell me you're a filthy, filthy troll... but I also wouldn't put it past Volvo to make something that can be wired in any which way and still refuse to die.
