Tim.
The 2wd D4 is 2.0 single turbo engine. The awd D4 is 2.4 twin turbo (very very close to the D5).

I have found Aviva will sort me out, just need to pay accordingly..

Quite laughable that Volvo have now sorted us D4 2.5 owners out with Polestar...glad I chose D4 now, even with additional costs my 2013 D4 Awd now works out significantly cheaper than the D5 I looked at

Guess with the new engines on the way they are not so bothered about it affecting D5 sales...happy days for D4 owners

Only issue I have with this that up to 2500rpm there's very little extra power. I suspect most XC60 owners don't exceed 2500rpm on a regular basis.

Torque is what makes the car feel faster and while the max torque is held for longer there's very little torque increase.

Hi, I have just changed my 2 year old XC60 D5 R Design for a new MY2014 D5 SE Lux Nav which has a polestar upgrade and was surprised but when I rang to let my insurance company know, they advised my premium has gone down by £9 a year.

Presume it is because the SE Lux is a lower insurance group than the R Design?

Which insurance company was that. GH ow much time left before renewal?

When I remapped a Mercedes my insurance company didn't want any extra premium. Come renewal they didn't want to insure it.

When I spoke to them they add 10% for Polestar on D5 (didn't ask about D4) but take off 10% if you have the drivers support pack fitted.

When I had Polestar fitted to my V60 205 bhp - 225bhp it cost me just shy of £600 - now we are looking at the top end of £700 for less extra....wish I could see it as being worth it...

Indeed, polestar for 215 d5 doesn't seem worthwhile. However, for 163 d4 2.4 it's phenomenal... basically gives you a d5.
