Default '98 V70R Auto - Service queries

Hi all, hopefully an easy one..........

1. At what mileage should the timing belt & tensioner be changed?

2. At what mileage should the auto box be serviced? Presumably this is just a oil & filter change?

Thanks!

Hello,
1. Timing belt is around 80,000 and eight years, whichever soonest and then stick to this regime.
2. Autobox; check the fluid colour and if it smelts burnt and looks discoloured, get it changed but do be careful because if done wrongly this can cause a world of problems. I've seen 100,000 miles suggested for a fluid change. But as I'm a manual user, autobox forum users will be more up on this.
Cheers

Thanks for that.

You mention it's important the auto box oil is changed correctly. Anyone know the correct procedure or is there a 'how to' somewhere on this forum?

Is there a filter in the box. If so, is this a volvo part or available in any accessory shop?
