Oh look, first post in this box! (240 petrol
Has anyone any first hand experience with replacing the rubber coupling between the filler neck and the tank on a 240 saloon? If it's as awkward as it looks I'll probably just continue not putting more than 3/4 tankfuls in!

Chris,
I have in the past done this job but as part of a full tank swap. As I recall I did not encounter any specific problems. Then again as I said it was a complete tank removal. Perhaps you may be able to do this without the tank removal by trying to remove the top section of the filler pipe.

Hi
On my 1980 262, the pipe is metal all the way down to the tank. But, it was disconnected like yours and the mechanic had to use a non-standard 'O' ring as the one supplied from Volvo did not fit. I believe they did not remove the tank. Andy |
