Post Clock in centre console missing.

Recently purchased a beautiful 07 S40 2.0D Sport after enjoying driving my Father's 2007 Volvo V50 Sport.

He has the premium performance sound system where as I have the basic.

However, I cannot seem to active or set up the clock on the centre console. After clicking Menu then going into settings it woudl appear that I'm missing the 'Clock Settings'

I can't believe the basic sound system prevents you from having the clock displayed on the centre console! Wondered if anyone else had this problem before? I've searched the Internet and found nothing - only people who can't seen to set the clock on the dash (managed that fine!)

First post on here - so be nice

Kind Regards,

Jono.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

On cars up to 2007 the centre of the display is blank when the radio isn't on and the clock isn't displayed when the radio is on either. At some point during 2007 around the facelift, the feature was added. The giveaway will be, how many little stalks pop out of your instrument cluster where the dials are? If you have 2 (one for the trip/odo and one for the clock adjustment) you have the earlier setup where the clock only displays on the instrument cluster. If you have 1 little stalk (only for trip/odo) you have the later revision.

I heard somewhere on a forum that the feature could be turned on or off with VIDA at a dealer but I have no hard evidence to support that.

Thanks Iain - you're correct I have the earlier set up. I will take the car to my nearest Volvo dealership and see if the firmware can be updated or whatever bi'll report back when I know! The display just looks naff when it's brightly illuminated but completely blank!

Thanks again!

I'm also interested in knowing if this can be done...
