What's the best oil for the T5 engine?
The oil was running a bit low when I checked on the dipstick on my recently aquired S60 T5 58 plate.
I had some Castrol GTX to top it up, which lists itself as semi-synthetic, but I wondered if there was an oil that works well with this engine? |

I agree 100%, the best Shell Helix is the Diesel Ultra 5/40 one, which has one of the best reputations around and is cheaper than both Castrol Edge 0/40, Mobil 1 0/40 or Lqui Moly Synthoil High Tech 5/40, two other real good synthetics.
I'm currently experimenting with the use of Liqui Moly Ceratec oil additive, but it will be at least 6 months before I get a used oil analysis result to see if it helps or not. |
