Question What's the purpose of this light?

Although I have had my XC60 for almost three years I have only just noticed a small green light in the black roof console (where the switches are for controlling the interior lights).

It’s in a deeply recessed hole about 3mm in diameter and seems to be always on.

Anybody know what it is for please?

Same as the one within the interior light cluster up front. I presume it’s there to provide some low level light and illuminate the rear power point to back of the drivers central arm rest/console in the rear and similarly provide some light over the gear stick dash central console.
A poor attempt to what VAG & BMW have been doing for years with red LED’s.

Thanks Mike, but too late! I've now got a sunroof where I didn't have one before!
